The last Friday of every month, new comers and old China hands gather together to eat, drink and be merry. Come and enjoy good company along with an open bar session where a buffet-style western cuisine will be provided between 7pm-9pm. 

Join us every Friday, from 10am to 12pm. Beginners and advanced players gather to play this traditional Chinese tile game. We will teach you how to play the game and soon you’ll be punging, shanging and playing ‘fancy hands’.

In the aftermath of the first annual Low Carbon Earth Summit in Dalian last month, the ICD continues the dialogue with experts on the green economy by focusing on two specific technologies; Managing Director of INAUT Martin Leihl will explain how all kinds of waste are an important source of energy. Gunar Kloss, General Manager at Termica Dalian, will share his knowledge on the technology and potentials of geothermal energy in China.

The ICD is a proud supporter of the AmCham-China, Dalian Chapter First Golf Outing. We will be a hole sponsor as well as hosting a raffle to raise money for our charity initiative. Participants will compete in a Two-Person Best-Ball format with awards being handed out for the top three finishers as well as closest to the pin and longest drive.

Katya has been living and working in Dalian for the past several years and many of you will know her from her work with Focus Magazine.  Recently she has had to return to Russia for cancer treatment.  Focus Magazine is organizing a charity event to raise funds for Katya's treatment and for the Dalian community to show their affection and concern for Katya.  The event will be held at the Zhongshan Art Gallery. 

The German five-piece band “Die Flotten Oberkramer” storms Dalian for 5 days to set the tempo for this year’s Oktoberfest celebration at Paulaner Brauhaus & Restaurant. Together with Paulaner Brewmaster’s specially brewed Oktoberfest Beer, a full range of German Specialties will be on offer too. 

This two-day trip will be a great opportunity for you to see Chinese life outside of a bustling city environment and learn more about China’s ancient past. We will start with a sightseeing tour of the historic town of Fuzhou, an ancient settlement near WaFangDian. In the evening we’ll enjoy dinner and dancing at a wonderful local club. After breakfast on Sunday we’ll enjoy some fruit picking at one of the local orchards before heading home.
