East Meets West: Cooking with Beer Come join Jek Tan, the Shangri-La Executive Chef, for a cooking class outside on the I-Café Terrace**! Beer is an essential ingredient in some recipes and a flavor enhancer in others. We will learn how to cook with this special ingredient in Fish and Chips as well as Drunken Shrimp with Garlic Sauce. Recipes will be provided for these delicious selections. Mark your calendar for Tuesday, May 20. Meet Rita in the Shangri-La Hotel Lobby at 9:45am as the class starts at 10:00am. The French Community represented by the French Consulate, the French Alliance, the French companies Mercure Hotel Accor and Carrefour has organized a charity concert for Sichuan victims on Saturday May 24th, 7 PM. Concert is free, but donations are highly welcomed. A cocktail will follow: RMB100 per person donated to the Sichuan Charity.Three French musicians and a Chinese soprano will perform together for a China-France friendship concert in the presence of the Consulate of France and the Officials of the Dalian Government.
