Third Culture Kids (TCKs) refers to someone who, as a child, has spent a significant period of time in one or more cultures other than his or her own, thus integrating elements of those cultures and their own birth culture, into a third culture. Since the term was coined by sociologist Ruth Hill Useem in the 1960's, a great deal of study and research has been done on TCKs.
We will look at who is a TCK, how we as parents should support our children who are TCKs currently, when we move to our next country, or when we repatriate to our country of origin. Knowing that many families in Dalian are raising TCKs, this will also be a wonderful opportunity to share experiences and ideas with each other. Come and enjoy the Nikko Hotel's buffet presented by their new culinary consultant Chef Martin Pfister! His specialties are Italian cuisine selections. For this buffet there will be a variety of selections available for your enjoyment.
