Established for the International Community in metropolitan Dalian - ICDalian is a business and social club to help communities, newcomers and seasoned expatriates make the most of their life in and around Dalian. Providing practical and accessible options for making a smooth transition in to a new environment, regardless of where you have come from or how long you plan to stay. Success in settling into a new location may be measured by how long it takes to:

• - have all of your household arrangements in place,
• - find new friends,
• - develop new networks and feel comfortable about asking for help from these networks,
• - feel as though you can welcome other newcomers,
• - know where to find the information you need,
• - say that your new location is 'home',
• - decide whether you should stay or go (some decide on a time limit),
• - look forward to each day,
• - realize that you have done your best and that is all you can do.

Indeed it seems that many newcomers who choose to move take on responsibility for issues that may be beyond their control and that they expect too much for themselves. It takes time to go through the moving cycle and it is important to be patient, to ask questions and to seek help when you need it.

There is no need to be alone. The challenges you face are real.

ICDalian also alerts Members to special news and networking opportunities, organizes and publicizes social actives, and seeks to 'give back' to Dalian in the form of charitable work and donations. We hope you will find the International Club of Dalian a supportive resource throughout your stay.
